Location Recommendations:
For location shoots, ideally, we find a large enough space with a somewhat high ceiling - at least, not one with a very low ceiling (for umbrellas). You can provide a stool for the subjects to sit on, or I can bring mine.
I need some time to set up (typically, up to 30 minutes), and the shoot duration depends on whether individuals want or need different shaded backgrounds. I have everything we need for all occasions, and while I try not to keep you and your family or colleagues any longer than required, there's no hurry on my part, so you will get some good portraits out of this session.
Clothing and appearance recommendations:
•Be happy with your hair length. A hair cut a week before the shoot can be good.
•Comb your hair before we shoot, and ensure dandruff is brushed off jacket.
•You can wear your glasses (in rare cases I might suggest going without).
•Clothing is up to the individual, but I suggest medium- or dark shade clothing of solid colour with solid-coloured light shirts.
•Bright colors, such as pink, red and orange, will overwhelm the face and usually do not make for great portraits.
•Classic styles do not go out of fashion and are therefore best.
•For “high-key” portraits, light/pastel clothing is essential; for “low key”, very dark clothing is a must.
•In family groups, coordinate clothing. Choose clothing in the same tonal ranges, to avoid one member being darker or brighter than others in the picture.
•Ties are optional, of course - your business culture determines this - but I usually recommend a bright tie.
•Skin blemishes etc that you might have on the day are no issue: these will be removed during finishing.
•Deep facial lines, under-eye shadows, etc. will be lessened as needed in finishing.
“They do look amazing! I can't wait to shoot with you again!”
